Pro Shares Secrets to Making Your LinkedIn Account Work for You

Most professionals and recent graduates from college and high school know they need a LinkedIn account, but how many are making sure that account works on their behalf? The Douglas County Education Foundation is sponsoring a seminar led by Jim Browning, social media strategist and LinkedIn expert, on April 23 from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. at Murray Educational Center, 4841 Highway 5, Douglasville, GA.

Mr. Browning has trained over 18,000 people to help them make a powerful LinkedIn profile. A well-crafted profile helps with career planning, the job search, and maintaining visibility in the marketplace. “95 percent of hiring managers find their candidates through LinkedIn,” said Mr. Browning.

In addition to leading training programs, Mr. Browning is an assistant vice president for East West Bank and a member of the Douglas County Education Foundation board.

“I want our youth to be successful, and I am proud to serve the students, teachers, and staff of the Douglas County School System as a foundation board member,” said Mr. Browning. “Through this seminar, I hope to help students and new graduates who are embarking on their careers, as well as adults who simply aren’t utilizing their LinkedIn profiles for maximum effect.”

Seminars like the one offered by Mr. Browning can cost hundreds of dollars, but entry to this one is a $5 donation to the foundation or free with a Kaleidoscope ticket stub. “As one of the newest members of the foundation board, I want to show my support,” said Mr. Browning. “This is one way I want to give back to the school system and community.”

Mr. Browning has over 37 years of diverse business experience in banking, sales, marketing, information systems, training, business development, and operations on the national and regional/local levels.  Visit Mr. Browning’s LinkedIn profile at www.JimBrowning.me.
